Walk FAQs
Answers to your questions about weather, cancellations, and what to expect on our woodland walks.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if it rains or there is poor weather conditions?
Walks will continue during the rain, as this can really enhance the sensory experience of the walk, bringing out the earthy aroma and the soothing sound of rainfall.
If there is a weather warning (yellow, amber or red) the walk will be cancelled with as much notice as possible and you will be given a full refund.
What should I wear?
Dress in layers with sturdy shoes suitable for the weather and trail. We recommend you bring waterproof layers and dress according to the weather. A forest bathing walk is slower than normal, so keeping warm will help you feel comfortable throughout.
Are dogs or children allowed on walks?
Not at the moment. The walks I guide are aimed at those aged 16+ and adults with babes in arms (the trails are not suitable for buggys). We don't invite any pets on the walks with us to help keep the practice as free from disruption as possible.
How long are the walks?
Full Forest Bathing walks are between 2 to 2.5 hours. The Forest Bathing Taster sessions last around 1 hour.
I aim to make every walk as accessible as possible, for people of many different abilities. The walks are at a slow and gentle pace, they are not a hike. We cover around two miles at most. Each walk is carefully risk-assessed and I used paths that are regularly maintained. There may be some uneven ground with branches or stones and there may be a slight incline or decline in terrain. If you are unsure about a walk or particular route and whether it may be suitable for your mobility or disability requirements, please email me directly.
I cannot accommodate those using wheel-based walking aids on walks at this time.
What can I expect on a walk?
Do you offer one to one private psychotherapy?
Not at this time. If I do offer private psychotherapy or outdoor therapy sessions in the future, I will update the website and my social media platforms accordingly.
Do you collaborate with others?
Yes, I've co-lead some wonderful events with experienced aromatherapists and yoga teachers. If you are interested in collaborating, please get in touch.
How physically accessible are the walks?
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel and get a full refund 7 days in advance of an event, cancellations after this time will be at my discretion. In the rare event of having to cancel or postpone a walk, you will get a full refund or offered another forest bathing experience instead.
How often do you run forest bathing sessions?
I aim to run forest bathing sessions twice a season, or sometimes once a month.
I will guide a small group of you (10-12 maximum) on a slow, gentle and mindful walk, covering approximately 2 miles at most. No swimming is involved. This Forest Bathing journey will awaken your senses and deepen your connection to the woodland.
We will begin with a short introduction and then a guided meditation which draws attention to your senses. The walk will continue with the opportunity to learn creative ways to connect with nature and to share with others in the group. After this carefully crafted sequence of suggested activities, the longer walks will finish with a short tea ceremony.
Each walk is carefully risk assessed, please get in touch if you have more questions.
Do you organise bespoke group or one-to-one forest bathing walks?
Yes, depending on my availability I'd love to hear about a bespoke walk you may want to arrange. This may be for the joy of sharing this experience of people close to you, or for a special occasion. I'm also experienced in guiding one to one forest bathing sessions.
